In a broader definition, the platform represents the convergence of physical infrastructure, technology, architecture, regulation and human resources.
All of these elements combine to provide a unique environment in which participants at the Centre can operate to maximize their returns, to innovate with new financial products and to deliver consistently enhanced value to stakeholders.
Building on our research into the best method and approach, the technical structure of the platform has been designed and is ready to be implemented. It will facilitate the conduct of the widest range of specialist financial business, providing a unified clearing and settlement environment to enable efficient operations in the presently fragmented regional Latin American financial markets, and ultimately an exchange.
Initially, the platform will support the activities of the Independent Clearing and Settlement House of the Americas (ICSA) which will begin with trades in OTC derivatives.
The ICSA will develop to incorporate a full risk taking credit counterparty service, and in due course the platform will facilitate a private exchange where members can apply for seats, and a regional stock exchange which gives companies from around the world access to new capital.
