A key part of our strategy is to recruit across the widest talent base for individuals to fulfil these functions. We are adopting innovative methods to ensure that we provide global standards of expertise with the use of expatriate and repatriate talent. At the same time we will ensure a ready supply of locally sourced employees, whose training is being specialised to the particular needs of the international financial community.
Central to the operational success of the Independent Financial Centre of the Americas is the establishment of a highly efficient array of financial and professional services for use by tenants, along with world-class back-office and administration facilities.
Local Talent
After an extensive benchmarking process to determine the specific requirements of the Centre and its tenants, we have entered into collaboration agreements with UNIBE, UNAPEC, PUCMM, INTEC and Barna, five of the leading Dominican universities, to cooperate in the creation of training curricula in the disciplines of business administration, finance, international law and accounting. From 2010, these programmes will establish a pipeline of between four and five hundred appropriately qualified individuals per year who will be available to work with businesses at the Centre. The educational standards they reach will be indistinguishable from their equivalents in Europe and the US, while the cost of their employment will be geared to the local economy, thus presenting exceptional value for employers.
Expatriate Talent

Repatriate Talent
More than half a million Dominicans live and work in New York, with a significant number working on Wall Street in the financial services sector. In addition, significant numbers work in the financial centres of Latin America. We are actively targeting these individuals by offering career opportunities that are competitive with their present activities, as well as offering all the benefits of a return home. We believe that this category of employee will provide an invaluable component of professional life in the Centre, combining as it does innate regional and local cultural knowledge with the global experience of working in the world's key financial centres.
